ClINICAL EXPERIENCE:
Over the course of my training, I have worked with a diverse range of individuals, couples, and groups. I've treated children in school settings, worked individually and facilitated group therapy sessions with military veterans at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and provided acute stabilization to people experiencing psychological crises in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. I also have years of experience working with people across the lifespan and from varied cultural backgrounds in an outpatient setting. I have lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of topics. My clinical training emphasizes the subtle and particular characteristics of each unique encounter between patient and therapist, and the capacity for us to use our minds creatively and interactively to discover more about your inner world.
My areas of clinical expertise include:
Issues related to death, grief, and loss.
Working with patients impacted by acute as well as developmental trauma.
Working with medical professionals around career identity development, burnout, and vicarious trauma.
Working with academics, postdocs, researchers, and staff scientists around issues related to the pressures of the academic environment, career identity development, relationships with PI’s and colleagues, and feelings of imposter syndrome.
Addressing issues of cultural identity, the effects of immigration, acculturation, bicultural identity issues, and multicultural family dynamics.
